Harmony with the surrounding landscape is very much a part of the spirit of Solleone Bio, a concept deeply rooted in our philosophy that led to the decision to produce in an area where Nature predominates and therefore inspires the work of every day.
Solleone Bio established its headquarters in Piedmont, identifying this Region as a fertile area of culture that is highly innovative and internationally minded.
The manufacturing plant of Solleone Bio lies among the green hills of Valdengo in the province of Biella. 22,000 square metres of land and 6,000 of production surface.
The Piedmont Region, which borders to the North with Switzerland and with France to the West, has always had a European mindset, which has made it popular in the continent and around the world.
Piedmont has an excellent reputation in various fields, including the food industry, where the sophistication of fine cuisine joins the careful selection of raw materials and the ability to combine balanced flavours.
This region fully reflects the philosophy of Solleone Bio, where taste emerges from a careful and accurate processing of superior raw materials.
THE MANUFACTURING TECHNOLOGY
Solleone Bio applies advanced technologies, not only to work the raw material by hand, but also to ensure a delicate process to achieve a quality that brings out all the freshness of a homemade product.
With this goal in mind, it is essential to focus on preserving the organoleptic and nutritional properties even after cooking.
The cooking process is therefore a crucial step, in which the physical parameters need to be carefully studied and harmonised in order to yield the best performance.
Solleone Bio applies a cooking process at low temperature in a depressurised environment to preserve most of the natural properties of fruit and vegetables. With this method, the cooking temperature does not rise above 60-65°C, allowing for a better texture and a pleasant aroma, which is typical of fresh fruit, due to the presence of natural acids, such as malic acid and citric acid.
At these low temperatures, even the natural sugars of the fruit are preserved from the risk of caramelisation. And it is also the reason that the colour of our fruit preserves is especially bright and vibrant.
The low temperatures also help preserve the nutritional properties, like vitamins.
PASSION FOR QUALITY
Qualified and experienced staff assigned to Quality Control and Food Safety.
Our production is meticulous: we work in compliance with the highest food safety standards.
Production is assisted by qualified personnel who use specialised equipment for top-quality performance.
Our strength is a highly-experienced team that is skilled and very attentive, and that supervises all the manufacturing stages, starting from the control of incoming raw materials all the way to the storage of the finished product. Every step is carefully monitored and recorded to ensure the traceability of operations and to control the manufacturing process. We respect the requirements of the competent authorities with an eye also to complying with internationally recognised quality standards.
We work as a team and leave nothing to chance: our R&D Division develops new recipes in accordance with corporate values and in collaboration with the sales, marketing and product development teams. We perfect each recipe until we are fully satisfied: everyone must be happy with the result, because we want to deliver high quality products to our customers that stand out from the competition.
We work with the production team to ensure the industrial scale-up and thus achieve the best results. Every step, from storage to weighing, from manual operations to those that involve the use of equipment, is coordinated according to standard operating procedures and every step is carefully supervised, both in terms of critical issues and quality. In fact, we carry out continuous process checks and adequate measurements to ensure compliance with the food safety and organoleptic quality parameters established for each single recipe.
All staff is trained around the clock; our best practices and quality guidelines are continuously updated and our training programme is very dynamic. Staff is also updated and trained to promote the growth of internal expertise.
With a view to continuous improvement, we identify the best practices, which we apply to foster a virtuous cycle of growth in the efficiency and culture of quality.
CARE FOR THE ENVIRONMENT
Solleone Bio is committed to respecting the environment and nature. One example is the use of Solar Tubes to provide lighting in certain areas of the manufacturing plant and warehouses, in order to save energy by using a renewable source such as solar power, giving the opportunity to our production staff to enjoy an almost 100% natural lighting. Another example is the natural insulation we use to lower energy consumption in the manufacturing plant..
The use of natural materials (BIO-Architecture)
Solleone Bio has renovated its offices and premises wherever possible, using natural materials and according to Bio-architectural concepts. An example is the use of natural clay to refurbish the floors and walls in some environments, making them not only appealing, but also healthy for the people who work in them.
The Concept of Biodiversity according to Solleone Bio
Solleone Bio believes in biodiversity and in the values of nature that equally apply to all living beings. Plants, people and animals, all with equal dignity, are in synergy within the universe and all share the four elements: water, air, fire and earth.
